A dome cover needs to be tough, tear-resistant, and completely waterproof. Depending on your building site and climate, you can select between two high-performance exterior skins:
The Standard Luna Cover: Every standard dome features a robust 850 g/m² PVC shell. This heavy-duty, tear-resistant fabric is engineered to withstand high winds, heavy rain, and intense UV exposure. (The integrated panoramic window section is upgraded to an even thicker 950 g/m² PVC for added structural integrity).
The PVDF Extreme Climate Upgrade: For builds in particularly harsh geographic areas—whether exposed to intense desert heat, coastal humidity, or heavy mountain snow—we offer a premium 1,100 g/m² PVDF cover. This ultra-dense skin is significantly stronger, acts as a highly efficient thermal regulator to help control interior temperatures, and boasts an average lifespan that is five years longer than standard PVC.
One of the most common questions we get is how we prevent water and wind from creeping in at the very bottom of the structure.
To solve this, our covers feature an engineered dovetail system at the base. The bottom edge of the cover splits into two distinct flaps. The lower flap is anchored securely to your concrete pad or wooden deck using specialized aluminum slats. Once the beauty panel is clipped on for a clean finish, the outer flap of the cover drapes smoothly over the top. This clever design completely conceals the mounting hardware and channels rainwater safely away from your foundation.

The visual character of your dome is determined by how you pair your exterior cover with your structural steel frame. With three cover choices (White, Sandy Beige, and Military Green) and three frame options (White, Black, and Galvanized Steel), you have nine foundational design combinations to start with.
Depending on your landscape and target aesthetic, different pairings create entirely different moods:
The Classic White Cover: A white cover on a matching white powder-coated frame offers a crisp, clean, and modern look. Swap the white frame for a black frame, and you instantly create a bold, high-contrast architectural statement. As a functional bonus, the dark framework absorbs light, making it less reflective and easier to look through when you’re stargazing from the inside. Pairing white with galvanized steel delivers a sleek, industrial-chic edge.
The Warm Sandy Beige Cover: Designed to blend beautifully with arid, sandy, or autumn-toned environments, sandy beige is naturally inviting. Paired with a white frame, it evokes the relaxed atmosphere of a high-end desert spa. Combining beige with a black frame creates a dramatic “desert lodge” feel, while pairing it with galvanized steel completes a soft, sophisticated resort look.
The Organic Military Green Cover: If your dome is nestled in a dense forest or woodland, military green acts as a natural camouflage. Pairing a green cover with a white frame yields a cozy, traditional “cabin in the woods” aesthetic. Selecting a galvanized frame channels a rugged, adventurous outdoor getaway vibe. However, matching the dark green cover with a black frame results in an incredibly premium, high-end ecotourism finish that is highly sought after by glamping operators.
If your dome layout includes a loft bedroom, a high-quality double-pane PVB glass skylight is an absolute must-have.
Day and Night Value: Positioned high on the dome, a well-placed skylight floods both the upper loft and the lower living spaces with natural light during the day. At night, it provides an uninterrupted portal to the stars directly above your bed.
Automated Climate Control: To prevent the morning sun from heating up the dome or waking guests up too early, you can equip the skylight with an optional automated blind. To match your interior aesthetics seamlessly, the blind covers are available in three neutral tones: White, Smoky Gray, and Sandy Beige.
